Select Retail Holdings bought Superquinn from the Quinn family early in 2005. Simon Burke has taken over the role of Executive Chairman of Superquinn and Senator Feargal Quinn is now the non-executive President of the business.

Simon Burke said: “We are proud to have become the owners of Superquinn. Feargal Quinn has left a tremendous heritage in Irish grocery retailing and we intend to build on it. We want to keep Superquinn famous for its quality, its range and its service while also offering good value for money.”

Since the takeover, Superquinn has made great strides to rejuvenate the brand. We have invested in refurbishing 16 stores and have won awards for two of these revamped stores - Lucan and Blanchardstown. We have opened our first new store in Rathborne and have four planned in the year ahead. As well as our stores, we have made significant improvements to our own label products ranges to reflect our market position and have now launched our first new advertising campaign.

Superquinn is authorized distributor of Euro Shopper products in Ireland.
